How do I pick the right colour and finish?

Accepted Answer

Start with the mood: warm or cool, light or moody. Then pick a finish that fits the surface and traffic — matte hides imperfections on walls, eggshell or satin handles wear in kitchens and hallways, gloss highlights woodwork. Order our sample pots in your three favourites and paint a generous patch on each wall. Look at it at three times of day — morning, midday, and evening lamp — before committing. We're happy to advise at the shop in Marbella or by WhatsApp.

Question 2

Do you sell sample pots before I buy the full tin?

Accepted Answer

Yes — sample pots are the easiest way to test a colour at home. Benjamin Moore samples come in 236 ml / Eggshell at €9.99 each; Farrow & Ball and Little Greene also offer samples in their standard finishes. One sample covers roughly 2 m². Paint a generous patch on each wall (not just one), and re-check the colour in different light before committing to the full tin.

How long does delivery take?

Stock items ship from our Marbella warehouse the same business day if ordered before 14:00 local. Marbella and the Costa del Sol typically receive next-day delivery; the rest of Spain is 1–3 business days via DHL. Special-order paint or wallpaper rolls that aren't in stock add the supplier lead time — usually 5–7 business days. We'll always email you the carrier tracking link as soon as the parcel goes out.

Question 4

Can I collect my order from the shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes — choose Click & Collect at checkout. Your order is staged at our shop on Calle Dublín 21, Marbella ; we'll email you as soon as it's ready (usually the same business day for stock items). Bring the 4-digit code from your "ready to collect" email; the counter team verifies it before handing over the goods. Open hours are listed on our store page .

Question 5

Can I return paint if the colour is not what I expected?

Accepted Answer

Unopened, unmixed tins can be returned within 14 days under Spanish consumer law — just bring the receipt or tell us the order number. We'll refund the original card via Stripe (typically 5 working days to land). Tinted (custom-mixed) tins are not returnable — every colour is mixed to order. This is why we recommend the sample pot test before committing to a full tin. If a mix isn't right, contact us within 24h and we'll do our best to help.

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

Online: Visa, Mastercard and American Express via Stripe. In-store we also accept cash and contactless payment with the terminal at the counter. For trade and large orders we can issue a proforma invoice and accept bank transfer (SEPA). All prices include 21% Spanish IVA; B2B customers with a valid CIF can request the IVA breakdown on the invoice.

Question 7

Can you issue an invoice with my NIF/CIF?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Add your NIF (individuals) or CIF (companies) to your account before placing the order, and we'll generate a Spanish-compliant invoice with your details and the 21% IVA breakdown. Every order automatically generates a sequential invoice (format BM-YYYY-NNNN). You'll receive it as a PDF attached to the order confirmation email. If you need it re-sent, write to hello@bmdecor.es with the order number.

Can you tint paint at the shop?

Accepted Answer

Yes — our Marbella shop is a certified Benjamin Moore tinting point. We mix Benjamin Moore colours on-site using the dealer machine. Farrow & Ball and Little Greene paints arrive pre-mixed from the brand. For BM custom mixes, allow ~15 minutes per tin at the counter. For special-order F&B / LG colours not in our stock, lead time is 5–7 business days from the brand.

Do you have a trade account for professionals (designers, architects, painters)?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Our Trade programme offers professional discounts, dedicated support, proforma invoicing and bulk pricing for decorators, interior designers, architects and painting contractors. Apply via the Pros page with your CIF and a short description of your business. We approve applications within 1–2 business days and assign you a dedicated contact for orders, quotes and on-site visits.

Question 10

Do I need to prime before painting?

Accepted Answer

For most repaints over a sound, similar-colour wall: no — a quality paint like Benjamin Moore Aura or Regal Select covers in two coats over a clean, dry surface. You do need primer when: painting over bare drywall, raw wood, metal or glossy surfaces; when going from a very dark colour to a light one; when there are stains, water marks or smoke residue. Ask us — we'll recommend the right primer for your case (Fresh Start, Stix or Pro Primer for BM; Wood Primer & Undercoat or Metal Primer & Undercoat for F&B).
